What is it?
Sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) is the sodium salt of the carboxymethyl ether of cellulose, a white to pale-yellow powder or granules that dissolves in cold water to form viscous colloidal solutions. It is a thickener, stabiliser and film-former with good water solubility and suspending/emulsifying stability.
