Consumer Advice

Zinc acetate is a compound of acetic acid and zinc, used mainly to fortify foods with the essential trace mineral zinc, which is important for immunity, wound healing and growth. It is safe at approved levels; however, excessive zinc intake can cause nausea and stomach upset, and long-term high intake can interfere with copper absorption, so it should be consumed at recommended amounts and not in excess.
