What is it?

Industrial:山梨醇脱水生成山梨醇酐,与月桂酸酯化得失水山梨醇单月桂酸酯,再与环氧乙烷加成聚合
Why is it used?
- Disperses fats and oils uniformly in the aqueous phase to form stable emulsions
- Improves solubility of hydrophobic flavours and colours in water
- Improves texture and mouthfeel
- Acts as a dispersant to prevent separation

Consumer Advice
Polysorbate 20 is a synthetic emulsifier made from sorbitol, fatty acids and ethylene oxide. It helps oil and water mix evenly and is used in drinks, sauces and baked goods. It contains no animal ingredients and is generally recognized as safe at normal levels; as with the broader emulsifier family, very large intakes may cause mild discomfort in some sensitive individuals.
